We are seeking a Senior-Level Architectural Leader to join our Bozeman, Montana team. This position requires a seasoned architect with a strong background in design, project leadership, and firm-wide strategic involvement. At Northworks, you will take on a leadership role not only in managing large-scale projects but also in shaping the future of the studio. You will provide strategic guidance, mentor junior team members, and manage key client relationships. This role requires a deep understanding of business operations within an architectural firm and the ability to drive successful outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead and oversee large-scale architectural projects from initial concept through completion, ensuring quality and consistency throughout the design and construction process.
· Provide high-level strategic input on the direction of the studio’s operations, design standards, and business development initiatives.
· Lead project teams by managing resources, delegating tasks, and maintaining accountability for the team’s performance and project delivery.
· Cultivate and manage long-term client relationships, acting as the primary liaison and ensuring satisfaction across all project stages.
· Oversee project budgets, schedules, and risk management strategies, ensuring adherence to financial and time constraints.
· Direct construction administration, ensuring that projects meet technical and design specifications.
· Mentor and develop junior staff members, fostering their growth and professional development.
· Participate in firm-wide initiatives, including business development, recruitment, and strategic planning efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
· 5-10 years of experience in architectural design, project management, and leadership roles.
· Architectural license is required.
· Extensive experience managing large, complex projects in a variety of sectors (e.g., residential, commercial, hospitality).
· Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage client expectations, and deliver high-quality architectural solutions.
· Strong business acumen, with the ability to contribute to firm-wide strategic planning and business development.
· Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant design tools.
· Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
· In-depth knowledge of sustainable design practices, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
· Knowledge of the local community and relationships with local contractors and consultants is a plus, as this can enhance project coordination and execution.
· Ability to work in an in-person office setting.
