Summary:
Responsible for keying and oversight of charges to ensure all charges are entered timely and ensures all charges are captured via auditing charges submitted by departments, and auditing department charge procedures and processes. Through such audits, the Charge Integrity Analyst will make recommendations to improve the flow of charges through the system. The position is responsible for running daily, weekly, monthly and annual procedures on the system which processes patient accounts. Also responsible for assisting with maintenance of the Charge Master and audit of patient charge and payment activity. In addition, performs various system tasks to assure the integrity and safekeeping of the data maintained on the system.
Responsibilities:
- Enters daily charges to meet 3 day hold period timeline.
- Assists with charge master updates and accuracy of price increases/decreases.
- Prepares special reports as necessary.
- Verifies patient insurance coverage, obtains prior authorizations, and completes weekly updates for skilled admissions.
- Runs the following reports/procedures:
- Daily review, editing and correction of patient charges and follows up daily with departments to ensure timely charge to patient's account and process change implemented.
- Monthly payment report activity; reports variances to department leader.
- Uses Excel as part of daily routine to maximize work efficiency and reduces unnecessary manual work processes.
- Develops projects that improve efficiencies, quality, service or patient satisfaction as part of department's overall service performance.
- Makes changes or corrections to data after verifying accuracy of information.
- Review, editing and correction on payroll, i.e. edits, transfers, work rule adjustments, etc.
- Performing all related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree with a focus in business administration required; bachelor’s degree with a focus in business administration preferred.
1-2 yrs experience in data analysis preferred; 1-2 yrs experience with hospital operating system preferred.
Strong computer skills required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Problem solving skills.Work Requirements:
