What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Laboratory Manager– Full Time position at NORTON COUNTY HOSPITAL?
Qualifications for this position:

Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) by a recognized accrediting agency (ASCP, AMT, etc.). A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting with at least 1 year as a manager.

MLT with a Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related field may be considered.
Some of the primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assures the laboratory meets all COLA/CLIA requirements.

Trains, supervises, and evaluates the performance of lab staff; enforcing safety procedures.

Evaluates quality control and modifies manuals and policies as needed.

Develops the laboratory budget and maintains control of lab costs.

Prepares monthly statistics and quality assurance data.

Collaborates with other departments to provide quality and efficient patient care.

Plans workload distribution and makes schedules.

Supervises the purchase of supplies and maintains equipment inventory.

Receives specimens for the lab or obtains specimens directly from patients and makes quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses.

Performs chemical, biological, and microscopic tests to provide data for the use in treatment and diagnosis of disease.

Prefer knowledge of Cerner Communities software.
