Responsibilities
Serves as a Lead technologist assisting other members of the surgical services healthcare team assuring quality, efficiency and handling distinct situations impacting case order, availability of instrumentation, implants, etc. The Lead Surgical Tech will build trusting collaborative relationships with staff, peers, physicians and other disciplines; serves as a change agent, communicates appropriate information throughout the day and plans the week according to availability of staffing, instrumentation, supplies, and external support. The individual must be knowledgeable of specific procedures or specialties, effectively prioritize, and effectively plan and problem solves due to the changing nature of the work situation during surgical procedures. Must have the ability to recognize the need for immediate response during urgent or emergency situations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Three years as a Surgical Tech; 1 year in the service line in which lead position will be concentrated.
- Diploma Surgical Technology or successful completion of Norton Surgical Tech Apprentice program
- Certified Surgical Technologist
