Responsibilities
The Clinical Operations Business Analysis Manager, working in collaboration with leadership across multiple hospital facilities, is responsible for business processes which support cost effective management of the Inpatient Care Division. Combining strong analytical, computer, and communication skills, this position will serve as the primary resource to Executive and other members of the leadership team within the Inpatient Care Division of multiple hospital facilities assisting in the design and implementation of efficient delivery systems. Supports financial stewardship by analyzing, planning and forecasting staffing needs, program growth, revenue opportunities and reviewing cost containment strategies in a unified approach with service area leadership as assigned. Ensures services meet established productivity and fiscal standards. Proactively identifies opportunities to create efficiencies and presents recommendations to leadership as appropriate.
Key Accountabilities:
- In collaboration with department directors and managers, leads efforts to generate staffing and scheduling matrices for service area; researches, creates, develops and implements staffing and scheduling processes and practices which support a productive workforce, flexibility and efficiency; serves as the staffing subject matter expert as appropriate; partners with Directors and Managers to identify and facilitate internal and external productivity benchmark processes and promotion; monitors and offers strategies for meeting external benchmark variances and opportunities; supports development and monitoring of the Department and individual unit productivity and staffing plans as appropriate (i.e. recommends, implements, and/or administers new or revised programs and/or services in the plans for the Inpatient Care Division).
- Serves as an Inpatient Care Division liaison with Healthcare Analytics, Clinical Analyst, Strategy Manager, Finance and others, as appropriate, to support the nursing services decision making process. Supports and is involved in the continuous quality improvement efforts of Norton Healthcare designed to increase patient outcomes, increase patient satisfaction, and improve the utilization of Norton Healthcare human, capital, and physical resources.
- Participates in budget development and management for all areas of Inpatient Care Division. Analyzes clinical and business information systems data for the purpose of making recommendations for operational and strategic planning. Reviews and approves all FTE proposals within the Inpatient Care Division to ensure alignment with productivity goals to include reviewing the accuracy of assumptions and data used in the proposal. Reviews and approves all Inpatient Care Divisions FTE replacements in collaboration with the FTE subcommittee.
- Assumes a proactive role in extracting, analyzing and interpreting internal and external data (i.e.-labor, census, Care Value, Position Management, etc.) making recommendations to leadership regarding services and related resource consumption accordingly. Summarizes data as appropriate. Prepares and produces results orally or in writing to requesting parties.
