Responsibilities
The Research and Development Specialist provides the Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry Laboratory with support, management, and development in the following areas: Flow Cytometer/BOND hardware and software, technical operations, Information Technology, and new test methodology and validation. Must also be able to multi-task and work without direct supervision. A high degree of analytic ability and inductive thinking necessary to resolve technically complex problems. Maintains all personal computers associated with the flow cytometry and IHC laboratory equipment and successfully completes all hardware and software upgrades associated with this equipment. Communicates with physicians in a knowledgeable and professional manner and comply with all relevant local, state, federal, and accrediting agency rules and regulations.
Qualifications
Required:
- One year in Flow Cytometry, or Immunohistochemistry, and database management.
- Bachelor degree in Biological Science
- One of: Specialist in Cytometry (SCYM) or Qualification in Immunohistochemistry (QIHC), within 6 months of hire
Desired:
- Three years in Flow Cytometry or Immunohistochemistry, and one year database management.
- Bachelor Degree in Biological Science or Information Technology
- Specialist in Cytometry (SCYM) OR Qualification in Immunohistochemistry (QIHC), or Histotechnologist (HTL), or Medical Technologist (MT).
