Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Job Specialty : Telemetry

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 07 : 00 PM - 07 : 00 AM, every other weekend

Guaranteed Hours : Not specified

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience

License : Registered Nurse

Certifications : BLS, NIH

Must-Have :

2 years of acute care RN experience
IV insertion, blood draws, PICC / Central Line management
Ability to obtain 12 lead EKG
Knowledge of basic telemetry strip reading
Familiarity with EPIC charting

Job Description :

Work on Medical Surgical and Progressive Care units with mixed patient acuity.

Provide friendly and supportive care to patients alongside a team of peers and resources.

Monitor units consisting of 9 to 14 beds, managing a patient ratio of either 4 : 1 or 5 : 1 depending on acuity.

Collaborate with leadership if needed for telemetry strip interpretation.

Administer common medications including blood pressure medications, stool softeners, antibiotics, lovenox, and anticoagulants.

Utilize common equipment such as a Dynamap, accu check machine, stethoscope, bladder scanner, and EKG machine when required.

Titrate select medications like heparin under protocol guidelines.

Support patient care that may involve procedures not specific to the unit, including trach care, epidural / PCA pumps, feeding tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, and wound vacs.

Adhere to the facility's dress code, wearing galaxy blue scrubs not provided but available for purchase.
