The Transportation Dispatcher is responsible for promptly answering calls from internal and external customers for transportation needs. The Dispatcher is responsible for the delivery of the call to the drivers in multiple states. Duties also include but are not limited to : scheduling, administrative support, coordinating and communicating transport routes, office activities, cost management and other related services for the company.
Specific Essential Job Duties :
- Dispatches calls to drivers as they are received, using information on daily factors such as arrivals, departures, locations, and customer needs to balance cost and speed of response.
- Oversees and manages the transportation drivers scheduled assignments.
- Maintains accurate and complete operational records.
- Monitors and maintains multi-line communication systems.
- Troubleshoots and resolves customer issues.
- Provides on-call dispatching services.
- Courteously interacts with internal and external customers.
- Prepares reporting for management as needed.
- Abides by all federal, state, and local laws, including all transportation rules, guidelines, and safety regulations.
- Abides by company HSEQ policies and procedures.
- All other duties assigned.
