Job Description
Norton Metals is looking for a highly motivated Outside Sales Representative to join our Fort Worth, TX location. We are looking for someone with relevant sales experience and industry knowledge selling materials.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform all essential duties of an Outside Sales Representative including, but not limited to the following:
- Utilize special skills to promote the company’s products and increase customer base
- Make calls to potential and existing customers to sell the company’s products and services
- Build and maintain customer relationships
- Setup and maintain new and established customer data base
- Monitor technical and business objectives of prospective customers
- Responsible for negotiating and preparing material bids for significant clients by setting pricing and profit margins and formulating all plan details
- Provide purchasing feedback as it relates to inventory levels, dead stock and new product evaluation
- Maintain working knowledge of product lines
- Negotiate skillfully and achieve acceptable profit margins in order to increase company’s profits and maintain company’s over-all financial health
- Responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction
- Work closely with supporting staff to see orders through to correct and timely fulfillment
- Report customer issues immediately and provide customer support to resolve complaints and problems, while maintaining good relationships
- Monitor quality control
- Maintain open lines of regular communication between all sales staff
- Provide leadership to supporting staff
- Participate in trade shows, conferences, training and PR events periodically
- Actively participate in training to increase sales skills and product knowledge
- Participate in on-call schedule
- Participate in inventory physical counts
Qualifications & Experience
- 3-5 years sales experience required
- 1-2 years outside sales experience preferred
- Steel Industry Knowledge required
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
