Norton Rose Fulbright is seeking an experienced regulatory compliance and product safety lawyer to join our Products Liability and Consumer Disputes team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the retail and consumer markets sectors; advising on compliance with federal and state product laws, regulations, and standards; and handling government enforcement and investigations, including consumer product reporting and recalls.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation: The full time base annual salary for this position is expected to range between $200,000 - $350,000. This range represents the firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting for a position in our US offices. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.

Norton Rose Fulbright is seeking an experienced regulatory compliance and product safety lawyer to join our Products Liability and Consumer Disputes team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the retail and consumer markets sectors; advising on compliance with federal and state product laws, regulations, and standards; and handling government enforcement and investigations, including consumer product reporting and recalls.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Safety & Consumer Product Recalls: Advise on product development, testing and standards compliance, CPSC reporting and recall, and managing national and international product recalls.
- Regulatory Compliance: Advise on a wide array of laws and regulations impacting the retail and consumer markets sectors, including chemicals management, packaging and labeling, extended producer responsibility, and green claims.
- Enforcement and Investigations: Representing clients in federal and state enforcement actions and investigations, including CPSC failure to report, DOE appliance efficiency, and California agencies (CARB, CEC, DPR).
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
- 3 years of experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
- Experience in regulatory compliance, product safety, and consumer protection laws related to consumer products, food, and cosmetics.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulatory frameworks and statutory and regulatory interpretation, including CPSC, FTC, FDA, DOE, California Proposition 65, PFAS, extended producer responsibility, CARB, CEC, and state consumer protection laws.
- Exceptional legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple regulatory matters, enforcement actions, and compliance investigations.
- Strong academic credentials
- Experience with retail and consumer markets compliance collateral, including manufacturing, distribution, and supply agreements; compliance policies and procedures, vendor manuals, and compliance guides.
- Knowledge of ESG & supply chain dynamics including counseling clients on modern slavery laws, business and human rights issues, and ESG compliance in transactions.
