Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Electronics Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing marine electronic systems, including navigation, communication, and entertainment equipment. This is a hands-on role requiring expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex electronic issues while ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and repair marine electronic systems such as GPS, radar, VHF radios, autopilots, AIS, sonar, and entertainment systems.
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on electrical and electronic systems, identifying and resolving faults efficiently.
- Work with customers to determine their needs and recommend appropriate equipment and solutions.
- Conduct system testing and calibration to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in marine electronics and attend relevant training as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while following all safety procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in marine electronics installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, wiring, and components.
- Certification from NMEA (National Marine Electronics Association) or ABYC (American Boat & Yacht Council) preferred.
- Familiarity with brands such as Garmin, Raymarine, Simrad, Furuno, and B&G.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced marine service environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
