Norvado is a leading telecommunications cooperative in Northern Wisconsin, dedicated to providing high-quality broadband services to our communities. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Fiber Optic Construction Foreman/Supervisor to join our team in Eagle River, WI, and play a critical role in our fiber optic network expansion projects.

Position Summary:

The Fiber Optic Construction Foreman/Supervisor will oversee and manage the daily operations of fiber optic construction projects, ensuring that all work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge in fiber optic construction, the ability to operate relevant construction equipment, and the capability to effectively manage and coordinate a construction crew. The position reports directly to the Director of Engineering and Construction.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervision and Leadership:

· Lead and supervise a team of construction workers and subcontractors in the installation and maintenance of fiber optic infrastructure.

· Ensure that all team members adhere to safety protocols and company policies.

· Provide training, guidance, and support to the crew to ensure high-quality work and productivity.

- Project Management:

· Coordinate and manage daily construction activities, including planning, scheduling, and execution of fiber optic construction projects.

· Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the Director of Engineering and Construction and other stakeholders.

· Ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

- Equipment Operation:

· Operate and maintain construction equipment commonly used in fiber optic projects, including but not limited to trenchers, boring machines, plows, and bucket trucks.

· Ensure that all equipment is used safely and efficiently, in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and company policies.

- Quality Control:

· Inspect work performed by the crew to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.

· Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during construction, including troubleshooting and problem-solving on-site.

- Communication and Coordination:

· Serve as the primary point of contact for crew members, the Director of Engineering and Construction, and other stakeholders.

· Coordinate with other departments and external partners to ensure seamless project execution.

· Maintain accurate records of daily work activities, including work logs, progress reports, and material usage.

- Safety and Compliance:

· Enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.

· Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fiber optic construction or telecommunications infrastructure.

- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the construction industry.

- Strong knowledge of fiber optic cable installation techniques, equipment, and industry standards.

- Proficiency in operating and maintaining fiber optic construction equipment.

- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.

- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.

- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
