Our Loan Operations team is seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join us as a Loan Operations Origination Assistant Manager AVP!
Reporting to our Loan Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day functions of the Loan Operations Origination Team, including oversight of the processing, underwriting, and closing processes.
You’ll be a key player in identifying and making recommendations to streamline processes, along with ensuring successful implementation of changes through updated procedures, training and monitoring.
Additionally, an essential component to this role will be supporting successful lending compliance and audit programs, and working as a liaison with bank management, compliance and audit, and performing required compliance and/or quality control testing.
Our Candidate Must Have:
- High school diploma with post high school education, certification, and/or college degree preferred or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three year’s operational experience.
- Prior experience in a leadership role with demonstrated abilities to coach, mentor and motivate others.
- Possesses knowledge of retail loan products and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude and be willing to work as an effective team player.
- Demonstrated ability to perform critical thinking with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Possesses exceptional organization skills and has the ability to prioritize, multi-task and organize workflow.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Core Operating System and Loan Origination System technology
- Demonstrates professional aptitude and sets the example as a positive role model

Essential Pieces of the Position:
- Provides ongoing employee development through effective leadership, coaching, training and development of staff.
- Provides technical support and resolution to more complex and non-routine inquiries.
- Monitors and analyzes quality control procedures to ensure reduction in file documentation and critical compliance exceptions. Determines contributing factors or trends, and works with the Loan Operations Team, retail lenders or other departments to revise procedures and/or increase training.
- Maintains general knowledge of Secondary Market and Portfolio Lending guidelines.
- Performs QC reviews as necessary and monitors pipelines.
- Serves as a resource for Retail Lenders and Senior Management pertaining to lending requirements.
- Provides effective personnel management including recruiting, hiring, salary administration, performance evaluations, coaching, etc.
- Analyzes and monitors Loan Operations processes, procedures and performance on a continual basis to improve operational efficiency and to promote and reinforce expectations of team behaviors.
- Provides research and assists with development of new products, new services and origination technologies. Manages and/or provides support to projects that primarily impact functional area.
- Manages and assists with implementation of new project initiatives within the department and bank.
- Assists with the oversight of the flood desk and all related flood rules and regulations.
- Provides overall support and back-up to the Loan Operations Department as business demands fluctuate, including but not limited to residential mortgage, consumer and commercial needs.
- Researches and provides educational opportunities for the Loan Operations Department to stay current on changes within the Retail Lending Industry.
- Stays proficient on loan origination systems and partners with BIT to ensure enhancements are implemented that will improve efficiency and productivity.
- Manages relationships with lending related vendors, including investors, in order to provide outlets for loans not placed in portfolio.
- Remains knowledgeable and current on all applicable regulatory requirements and works closely with business lines and compliance to ensure proper regulatory procedures are understood and followed.
- Assists Loan Operations Manager with managing compliance and risk related responsibilities such as Flood, RESPA, Reg Z, CRA, etc. Assists with researching & addressing results & findings of various lending compliance audits and examinations.
