Role and responsibilities
The purpose of the Finance Technical assistant position is to contribute to the day-to-day implementation of the finance unit responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities
- Responsible for CO petty cash payments & ensuring that the CO cash payments are correctly recorded in cashboxes and cash count is conducted on a daily basis.
- Responsible for clearing all suppliers’ payments, including Checking all supporting documents in compliance with NRC rules and regulations and local laws.
- Responsible for issuing cheques and bank transfers for CO Office payments.
- Prepare all CO Post-backs for Banks & cash.
- Prepare CO salary transfers & ensure correct booking of projects, accounts, and amounts.
- Follow up with logistics on payments supporting documents
- Responsible for the follow-up and settlements of advanced and CO travel claims.
- Responsible for Bank reconciliation for CO.
- Responsible for finance backlog/SSD.
- Responsible for photocopying, scanning, and archiving Finance documents in the file systems.
- Responsible for NRC CO Finance files.
- Stamp all invoices with Paid and donor Stamps.
- Undertake any other reasonable task assigned by management.
Generic professional competencies:
- Experience working as a Finance Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
- At least 2 years of experience in accountancy.
- Very Good command of English and Arabic, both written and verbal.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, and Accounting.
- Relevant work experience with Agresso is desirable.
- Experience with computers, particularly Excel and database programs.
- Knowledge of the Hebrew language is preferred.
