Job Overview
To assist classroom staff to ensure children are safe and accounted for and to provide care for toddlers and preschoolers using developmentally appropriate practices and responsive relationship building strategies.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Supervise and care for children in the classroom to ensure a safe, clean, and healthy learning environment.
- Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, federal and state regulation, and licensing requirements.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessment for the classroom.
- Maintain recordkeeping and reporting systems to ensure accurate information, with timely completion and follow-up.
Qualifications
Minimum Education Level
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred Education Level
Associates, or higher, in early childhood education, social work, or related field
Experience
Some experience preferred
Preferred Experience
2 years of direct experience with at-risk population
Personal characteristics: Self-motivated, compassionate, flexible, Inclusive, reliable
Physical abilities: Lift 30 pounds
