Job Overview
We are a fast-paced and high-demand, non-profit program that depends on everybody in every position to help our centers function with ease. You will gain diverse experience working with an at-risk population. Cross-training is available and expected for all positions.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for purchasing necessary supplies and food for meal preparation in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
- Assist Food Specialist in all areas of food ordering, preparation, serving and clean-up.
- Monitor food allergies/dietary conditions of children and prepare food accordingly.
- Prepare all meals and snacks following all CACFP and Head Start guidelines and regulations.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary environment according to all guidelines.
- Must have a valid driver's license to travel throughout the catchment area on an as needed basis to attend training, deliver food, or support centers.
Minimum Education Level
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred Education Level
Associates, or higher, in related field
Experience
Some experience in commercial food preparation preferred
Preferred Experience
2 years of experience in commercial food preparation
Personal characteristics: Responsible, dependable, committed
Certifications: Food Handler's Certification or willing to obtain through Norwescap, driver’s license and reliable transportation
Physical abilities: Lift 30 pounds
