Job Overview

Responsibilities and Duties
- Plan, develop and administer the Head Start/Early Head Start health and nutrition services area, ensuring an integrated and comprehensive system of services for children and families.
- Provide training and guidance to staff, parents, and community members on a variety of pertinent topics in the area of health and nutrition.
- Ensure on-going monitoring, tracking, follow-up and analysis of health and nutrition services, including health and nutrition plans.
- Maintain recordkeeping and reporting systems, including service area plan, schedules, timelines, policies and procedures for health and nutrition services in accordance with Head Start
- Performance Standards, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Monitor and ensure family and child information is being accurately and properly recorded and followed-up on in the mandated time-frame, including the implementation of developmental screenings and ongoing developmental assessments.
- Travel throughout catchment area on a regular basis to visit sites and provide technical assistance and coaching to site staff.
- Implement data-driven decision making and utilize multiple data bases.
- Monitor, coordinator and submit CACFP application.
Minimum Education Level
Bachelor’s degree in health or nursing
Preferred Education Level
Master’s Degree in health or nursing
Experience
2 years working with children birth to 5 and their families
Two or more years administrative experience preferred
Personal characteristics: Effective leadership skills, reliable, flexible, compassionate
Certifications: RN
Physical abilities: Lift 30 pounds
