Job Duties include:
Major Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:
- Develop and execute strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors contributing gifts ranging from $1,000 to $4,999.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors through personalized communication, in-person meetings, and recognition efforts.
- Implement a Major Donor affinity group to engage and enhance relationships with major donors through exclusive events and communications.
Special Events and Sponsorship Management:
- Plan, organize, and manage large-scale fundraising events including the Carousel and 5K events.
- Oversee sponsorship acquisition and stewardship for events, ensuring sponsorship benefits are fulfilled and relationships are nurtured.
- Coordinate logistics, volunteer management, and marketing efforts for successful event execution.
- Manage other smaller fundraising events throughout the year, ensuring they align with organizational goals and budget.
Appeal Strategy and Implementation:
- Develop comprehensive appeals strategies, including digital and physical campaigns, as well as peer to peer outreach to solicit donations and support for the organization’s mission.
- Create compelling content for appeals, working closely with the Marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
- Analyze and report on the effectiveness of appeals campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize fundraising efforts.
Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor the Development & Special Events Manager, providing leadership and guidance on fundraising tactics, event planning, and donor relations.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages creativity, professional growth, and teamwork.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising with a focus on major donor cultivation and stewardship, event management, and appeals.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team to achieve fundraising goals.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and inspire donors and stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and trends to inform fundraising strategies.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
