Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this leadership position offers the opportunity to guide legal strategy and drive business growth across GeoComply’s core operations. They will lead a diverse team, efficiently manage all commercial contracting processes, support our product development, and collaborate with key stakeholders to align business strategies with legal and regulatory requirements. This is a pivotal role for a seasoned legal professional who combines strategic thinking with a deep understanding of commercial and contract law, technology transactions, privacy law and data governance, and intellectual property matters.Key Responsibilities : Strategic Leadership : Lead the global Commercial & Product Legal team, setting priorities and aligning with company objectives while mentoring a diverse legal team.Commercial Contracting : Own all customer, vendor, and partner contracting, ensuring efficient and protective deal execution.Product & Market Strategy : Support our Product and Revenue teams in developing our product and go-to-market strategies, balancing our business objectives with legal and regulatory compliance.Privacy Compliance : Partner with our Product, Information Security, and other compliance teams, oversee the company’s compliance with applicable privacy laws and support the development of prudent data governance policies.IP Programs : Help drive the protection and enhancement of GeoComply’s intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, brands, and trade secrets.Innovation & Efficiency : Partner with our Legal Operations team, implement advanced technology and processes, such as contract management systems and AI tools, to enhance legal processes and maintain a competitive edge.Collaboration & Influence : Serve as a trusted advisor and business partner, fostering strong relationships across the organization and with external clients and partners.Who You Are : Law degree (LLB, LLM, JD) and Bar membership in a relevant US state and / or Canadian province.A proven track record of legal experience, combining law firm expertise with in-house leadership in a high-growth software technology environment.Strong background in commercial contracting, technology transactions, product counseling, privacy, and IP matters.Ability and desire to work with cutting-edge software technology, including advanced data processing and AI / machine learning.Proven leader with strategic thinking, business acumen, and the ability to build and develop high-performing legal teams.Excellent communicator and relationship builder, skilled in navigating complex legal issues and providing practical and dynamic solutions to business and product teams.Highly organized, responsive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.Bonus PointsExperience in regulated industries, especially gaming or financial services.Background in commercial and / or IP litigation.Familiarity with legal operations management and technology adoption.Salary RangeOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several Global markets. The salary for this position ranges based on location and experience.
