What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Choice Voucher Coordinator position at Norwich Housing Authority?
Full time position. Responsible for overall operation of the Agency's Housing Choice Voucher Programs (HCVP) and for ensuring all housing units covered by the program(s) meet HUD and local inspection requirements. Performs managerial, supervisory, and administrative tasks involved in planning, organizing, and coordinating efforts to provide low-income housing through the Agency's leased housing programs. Responsible for HUD agency scoring systems such as Section 8 Management Assessment Program (SEMAP) and other future HUD required evaluation systems. Must have and maintain a valid State of Connecticut driver’s license. Possession of a High School Degree or GED. Six to eight years’ experience in the Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 Program. An associate’s degree in business administration or its educational equivalent may be substituted for up to four years’ experience. Must have at time of appointment, or receive within one (1) year of date of hire, and maintain thereafter as a condition of employment, certification by NAHRO as a Section 8 HCV Housing Manager, or the equivalent thereof, and certification as a housing inspector in accordance with Federal Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and/or NSPIRE, or any other related certifications that the federal government may subsequently require. Hourly pay rate of $36.00 to $40.00 for a 35-hour workweek with benefits. Must reside in the State of Connecticut and live within twenty-five (25) miles of the Authority’s main office, which is located at 10 Westwood Park, Norwich, CT.
