SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Security Manager is responsible for the overall security of the company’s personnel, assets, facilities, and products. This multifaceted role involves developing and implementing security policies, protocols and procedures, conducting risk assessments and audits, and ensuring the safety of people, property as well as ensuring the company’s
security measures remain compliant with all applicable cGMP, federal, and state regulations.
The Security Manager establishes and maintains best practices and driving continuous improvement opportunities with a focus on theft & vandalism prevention, as well as other related security risks. The Security Manager is responsible to co-lead for all emergency management response. This role requires both independent initiative and collaboration with other key stakeholders to maintain a safe and secure operational environment.
ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE
The Security Manager will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Site Operations – Norwich and be based at the Norwich Manufacturing Facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hire and Onboard contract security personnel. Manages and trains the Security Guard Team, ensuring skills are acquired to perform their duties safely and effectively.
- Conduct systematic and random security assessments to ensure regulatory compliance and proactively identify and mitigate security-related vulnerabilities.
- Maintain the operational integrity of all security management systems (e.g., intrusion detection, access control, and video surveillance platforms).
- Ensure security protocols are followed and integrated into business processes and projects.
- Investigate security breaches, incidents, and potential threats. Document findings and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Liaise with area law enforcement, county emergency response team, and other security professionals.
- Promote a security-conscious workplace.
- Proactively manage the relationships with third-party security service providers to ensure quality of work, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of services.
- Prepare business cases in support of funding security-related projects.
- Maintains utmost confidentiality and discretion.
- Co-leads Company Emergency Response Trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
