EXTENDED LEARNING/AFTER-SCHOOL INSTRUCTOR (Multiple Locations)
Monday-Friday / Hours vary based on location
Approx: 2:45-5:00pm OR 3:30-5:45pm
Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to motivate and engage students in academic and enrichment activities. Instructional proficiency in language arts, mathematics and science preferred. Knowledge and experience with differentiated instructional teaching strategies preferred. Candidates must be able to work collaboratively and be team players. Teaching certification preferred, but not required.
Reports To: School Administration and Extended Learning Supervisor
General Description:
The group facilitator will work in collaboration with the program supervisor and other instructors to provide student participants with academic and enrichment support. Instructors will provide support to students during recreation, academic (homework) support, and enrichment times after school hours.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to daily attendance.
- Encourage positive participation from students of all ages through praise, encouragement and modeling high expectations.
- Provide academic support during homework time and assist program coordinator with monitoring student academic progress.
- Assist program partners in conducting activities and managing small groups.
- Plan, develop and lead enrichment activities independently.
- Assisting the program coordinator with various management tasks, as assigned.
- Develop service learning and/or career readiness activities related to club themes.

Salary/Terms of Employment:
- Non-certified staff - $22/hr
- Certified staff paid the current year's contractual hourly rate determined by BOE and NTL
