Fulfills the mission of Norwich University by providing academic and administrative leadership for the PMHNP track within the graduate nursing program. This position involves oversight of curriculum development and implementation, resource allocation, program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement to ensure alignment with accreditation standards and institutional goals. The lead faculty member will also engage in teaching, mentorship, and collaborative decision-making to advance the track's objectives and support student success. Collaborates with Director of the School of Nursing, the Associate Director for Graduate Programs, course developers, the clinical placement team, and instructional designers to deliver dynamic synchronous and asynchronous courses and clinically focused preceptorships aligned with national accreditation standards, competencies, and the Norwich University mission and values.
This is a full-time (1 FTE) faculty position requiring a 9-credit teaching load per semester, including teaching across 12 months per year. This role ensures the fulfillment of Norwich University's mission by supervising instruction and course development for the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) track. This track is offered through the Norwich University School of Nursing (NUSoN) in partnership with the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies (CGCS).
Hybrid work schedule may be authorized, with travel to the Vermont campus required for specific events.
Essential Functions
- Teaches 9 credits per semester, ensuring quality instruction, curriculum rigor, and alignment with accreditation standards.
- Provides leadership for curriculum planning and oversee specialty track-level curriculum development.
- Oversees faculty instruction and education for PMHNP students, ensuring alignment with program objectives and national standards.
- Dedicates 3 credits per semester to administrative oversight of the population-focused track.
- Reviews all proposed clinical placements for appropriateness.
- Oversees track-specific accreditation compliance, ensuring that curriculum and program outcomes meet relevant standards.
- Monitors track enrollment trends and provide recommendations for resource allocation to meet program needs.
- Supervises adjunct faculty and students in the track, providing mentorship and support.
- Functions as an essential team member with the assessment and evaluation of student outcomes, course objectives, and program effectiveness.
- Reviews applications for the PMHNP program track(s).
- Leads the development, review, and revision of the track's curriculum, ensuring alignment with program outcomes, industry standards, and emerging trends in nursing practice.
- Collaborates with faculty and stakeholders to develop and refine course objectives, instructional materials, and assessment methods.
- Ensures integration of interprofessional education and evidence-based practice into the track curriculum.
- Leada PMHNP track planning and evaluation processes.
- Ensures the curriculum remains current, relevant, and aligned with PMHNP competencies and accreditation standards.
- Monitors and reports on accreditation compliance and support the overall accreditation process for the MS in Nursing program.
- Leads efforts to assess and evaluate student learning outcomes, track performance metrics, and implement data-driven improvements.
- Conducts regular program reviews, identifying areas for growth and innovation.
- Contributes to institutional and programmatic accreditation processes, including the preparation of self-study reports and participation in site visits.
- Acts as a liaison between the population-focused track and broader program administration.
- Participates in programmatic decision-making related to curriculum design, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
- Mentors faculty within the track, providing guidance on instructional strategies, professional development, and research opportunities.

Job Requirements:
- Doctor of Nursing Practice degree
- Active, national board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- Unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Must have the ability to obtain licensure in any state needed by the program.
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time teaching experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a nationally certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
- Experience in APRN program development, curriculum development and program track management preferred
- Experience with online teaching, instructional technology
- Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards
- Understanding of test blueprint knowledge for Board certification exams
- Ability to work and contribute virtually to a team environment
- Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 15 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts of the campus
- Work some evening or weekend hours
- Travel as needed (public or private transportation)
