Norwood Crossing is a nonprofit healthcare organization specializing in quality senior care. Our facility is located on the northwest side of Chicago in the quaint neighborhood of Norwood Park. Our organization is seeking a full-time Activities Assistant to join our growing team. ** Hours and days are subject to change dependent upon departmental needs.
DUTIES
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assume the authority, responsibility and accountability of Life Enrichment Associate/ Activity Coordinator by planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating Activity programs.
- Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement so that facility activities and resident progress are evaluated by noting, reporting and charting resident behavior.
- Ensure that all charted activity progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided and indicate the resident's response to the service.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information (HIPAA).
- Maintain a neat and clean work environment.
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel.
- Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary.
- Involve the resident/family in planning activity programs, objectives and goals when possible.
- Participate in the community planning related to the interest of the facility and the services and needs of the resident and family.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ideal candidate lives in within 15 miles of 6016 N. Nina Ave (60631)
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical.
- Must have valid Illinois Drivers License
- Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions and to accept constructive criticism.
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
