GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK
Under the direction and supervision of the Summer School Teacher and/or Principal and Assistant Principal, the Instructional Paraprofessional assists in the daily supervision and instruction of students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Supervise students in instructional situations in the manner prescribed by the Summer School Teacher and/or Principal and Assistant Principal
- Consult with the teacher concerning academic expectations for individual students
- Supervise students in the classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, playground, and at rest time in a safe, structured, and positive manner that supports the expectations of the teacher and/or principal
- Consults with the teacher and/or principal concerning behavioral expectations for the students in different situations
- Must meet one of the following criteria:
- Completion of at least two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education (four-year college or university); or
- Attainment of an Associate degree, at a minimum; or
- Demonstration of knowledge and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics through a formal state or local academic assessment

SALARY
$20.00 Per Hour
NOTE
No personal benefits or leave programs (i.e., personal leave, sick leave) are available to summer school employees.
Employment will be contingent on summer school student enrollment.
