Not These Ovaries is a Miami-based forward-thinking nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing ovarian cancer research and improving patient resources. We are tech-forward (try our patient AI chat bot), transparent (publish wins and losses, finances, etc), and focused on funding impactful research. Our mission is driven by the urgency to create better outcomes for cancer patients, inspired by our co-founder’s personal journey of survival.
Purpose of the Role:
As a Volunteer Advisory Board Member, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Not These Ovaries. This remote position is ideal for individuals passionate about giving back, rolling up their sleeves, and driving meaningful change in healthcare and cancer research.
Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer Advisory Board Members will:
- Provide expertise in one or more of the following areas: healthcare, finance, government/public policy, marketing, events, or technology/data.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives such as managing finances, lobbying for public policy changes, enhancing marketing efforts (social media, PR), planning events, or supporting tech projects like doctor directories and AI tools.
- Actively participate in fundraising efforts by donating $1,000 annually ($83.34 a month) or raising equivalent funds to support the organization’s mission.
Qualifications:
We are seeking individuals who:
- Have professional experience in healthcare, finance, government/public policy, marketing, events planning, or technology/data management.
- Are passionate about advancing ovarian cancer research and improving patient outcomes.
- Are willing to contribute time and resources to drive the organization forward.
Time Commitment:
- Attend monthly Zoom meetings (1 hour) to collaborate with fellow board members.
- Commit 8-15 hours per month to support organizational projects and initiatives.
