JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Specialist troubleshoots, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance at multiple NOTCH service sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Monitors building areas and mechanical systems through a Web base system.
- Provides preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems.
- Installs Heat Pumps, HVAC systems and other systems, and conducts repairs if necessary.
- Performs repairs, including but not limited to mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing, minor carpentry, masonry, and painting.
- Performs preventive maintenance and routine maintenance.
- Plans and carries out seasonal tasks (mowing, Shoveling, etc.)
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with people at all levels internally and externally.
- Ability to use computer and email.
- Ability to interpret documents and building plans.
- Aptitude to handle multiple projects.
- Ability to function as a team member in a collaborative environment.
- Individual must be a self-starter.
- Flexibility to work a variety of hours and the ability to adjust priorities on short notice.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
Prior property maintenance experience and working knowledge of grounds maintenance, basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
Valid Vermont driver’s license and good driving record. License, certificate, or specialized training in one or more technical trades (i.e. plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems).

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
