Clothing Distribution Manager

Note in the Pocket provides clothing to impoverished and homeless children in Wake County with dignity and love. We believe that it is unacceptable that children are limited in their educational and social development because they do not have appropriate clothes for school.

This position is responsible for receiving, filling, tracking, and delivery of all requests from referral partners working with Note in the Pocket. Provides feedback to the Day Leaders regarding quality control, sizing, shelving, and overall fulfillment process with the Day Leaders and volunteers.

  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate and timely fulfillment of incoming clothing requests
  • Sets up schedules for training and evaluating volunteers nominated by the Program Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, and Day Leaders
  • Advises DL’s about general inventory gaps and specific items/sizes needed to complete current requests
  • Suggests implementation of procedural updates as needed
  • Assists Program Manager with scheduling volunteer drivers for delivery of completed requests
  • Records delivery information including: destination, driver, date, number of bags for data input and recording of volunteer hours
  • Oversees requests received by email; follows up as necessary with referral partners regarding clarification and/or missing information
  • Assists with final quality control inspection of fulfilled requests before items are packed
  • Help engage and retain volunteers within the organization.

Non-Essential Functions

  • Greets volunteers upon arrival and helps Day Leaders to facilitate groups as necessary
  • Assists in maintaining needed inventory control and alerts Finance and Operations Director when gaps occur including supplies such as bags

Qualifications

A. Education

X High School Diploma/GED Required

X Associate Degree Preferred

B. Experience

  • 3 years of experience working in a non-profit helpful
  • 1 years of experience supervising employees or volunteers
  • Previous experience working in a retail or re-sale clothing business required

C. Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

  • Ability to guide staff and volunteers toward clear expectations, communicate vision effectively; ensure that direct reports understand goals; provide effective guidance and feedback; align opportunities for growth and provide assignments that stretch and challenge staff; conduct performance assessments and development plans to discuss in a timely manner.

Physical Requirements

X Normal periods of sitting and standing in an office environment.

X Extended periods of sitting at a workstation/desk in a warehouse environment.

X Extended period of standing.

X Lifting and/or pushing objects up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis

X Lifting and/or pushing objects up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.

Working Conditions

Work is performed inside a warehouse type building. Level of noise is moderate in work environment and temperature controlled.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
