DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS

Position Summary:
The Athletic Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Notre Dame Academy Athletic Program,
Assuring that the athletic program meets the requirements of all federal, state and MIAA regulations. The Athletic Director is responsible for establishing and maintaining good sportsmanship standards at all athletic events and ensuring fair and respectful treatment of all student athletes. The Athletic Director represents Notre Dame Academy at MIAA and District meetings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Administration for all Fall, Winter, and Spring sports, including, but not limited to:
-Coordinate the recruitment and hiring process for program coaches.
-Professional Development and mentoring coach’s growth
-Ordering equipment, uniforms and medical supplies.
-Assume responsibility for the proper set-up and supervision of all home games.
-Arrange for transportation to and from athletic events.
-Arrange for the needs of visiting teams
-Arrange practice schedules for coaches.
-Coordinate officials and umpires.
-Coordinate payment for coaches and athletic staff.
-Establish clear and respectful protocols for coaches, athletes, and parents.
-Responsible for all communications with Coaches and Families.
-Manage social media outlets showcasing NDA athletics
-In consultation with the Principal and Director of Finance and Operations, coordinate, plan and submit a recommended program budget (both operating and capital needs).
-Attendance at District and MIIA meetings.
-Collaborate with Assistant Principal and Nurse to determine student athlete eligibility.
-Responsible for scheduling for all programs across all seasons.
-Responsible for maintenance and risk assessment of fields.
-Collaborate with Facilities Team to determine facilities upkeep.
-Coordinate special events to highlight the Athletic Department.
-Maintain accurate records of teams and individuals.
-Collaborate with the Marketing Department to maintain consistent brand representation.
Education and Experience Requirements:
-A bachelor’s degree required; a master’s degree preferred.
-Minimum of 5 years teaching / administrative experience at the high school level.
-Experience with high school athletics programs and / or recreational programs.

-Experience with Arbiter Sports, GoFan Ticketing, and NFHS Network.
-Experience with Facebook Business Suite, Canva, and evolving trends in social media.
