Exciting Opportunity: Full-Time Controller at Notre Dame Academy!
Join us at Notre Dame Academy - Hingham, an all-female college preparatory high school dedicated to empowering young women in grades 6-12. As a vibrant Catholic learning community sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, we focus on personal faith formation, academic excellence, and social responsibility.
Reporting to the President, we are seeking a Full-Time Controller who oversees the school’s finances and operations with primary responsibilities of accounting, reporting and business office/ facilities operations. The ideal candidate is mission-driven who has superb people skills, uncompromising judgment and integrity, experience in an independent school preferred, and a demonstrated commitment to hallmarks of the mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. This is a full-time (12 month) position.

Key Responsibilities:
•Use standard accounting and bookkeeping procedures to keep an accurate, continuous record of the cash and financial position of the school and manage the financial operations of the school.
•Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
•Oversee school purchasing.
•Oversee accounts receivable and payable.
•Monitor and control cash flow.
•Efficiently manage expenses within all school departments.
•Help manage the budget and reforecast to ensure the school operates within budget.
•Distribute monthly departmental budget reports.
•Assists in the preparation of operating budget for submission to and approval by the Board of Directors.
•Work collaboratively with Director of Enrollment on financial aid and merit awards.
•Coordinate the annual audit.
•Perform payroll analysis to determine teacher and staff compensation bands.
•Work with Human Resources to execute annual contracts for faculty and staff.
•Oversee risk management issues including insurance, emergency management plan, liability and safety concerns as well as compliance with local, state, and federal regulations applying to school and summer programs.
•Coordinate the school's Human Resource function by managing salaries and benefit programs, writing policies and job descriptions, interacting with personnel regarding all aspects of employment and benefits implementation, including the annual update of the Faculty and Staff Handbook.
•Oversee the financial and operational functions of Notre Dame Academy and Summer programs.
•Oversee the Director of Campus Operations, physical plant and grounds, including custodial care, cleaning, maintenance, safety, and compliance with regulations, including preparation of and maintenance of a facilities report.
•Oversee the food service operation at the School through an independent food service contractor.
•Negotiate key contracts and expense agreements with vendors, including, but not limited to, health insurance contracts, facilities maintenance contracts, staff benefit programs and auxiliary program agreements.
•Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance or accounting preferred or demonstrated equivalent experience. Prior experience in a school setting preferred.
•An understanding, commitment, and appreciation for a Catholic, all-girls educational environment and NDA’s mission and core values
•Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
•Highly organized with a strong standard of professionalism, accountability, and customer service
•Experience in senior finance and administrative positions required
•Knowledge of business office practices and procedures, budgeting, cash management, accounts payable and receivable, employee benefits required
•Intermediate/expert knowledge of Microsoft office suites, PowerPoint and accounting software required
•Familiarity with legal documents and contracts is required
