NDCL Teacher of Science – Integrated Science
The Opportunity: Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School, a thriving, coeducational Catholic college preparatory high school sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame, seeks a collaborative and engaging Teacher of Integrated Science to support our students as they pursue
academic excellence and prepare for lives of leadership and service.
Essential Skills:
· Philosophically aligned to the Catholic mission, vision, and core values of NDCL
· Professional expertise in linking curriculum, instruction, and assessment, especially as they relate to preparing students for college success
· Competence in science curriculum, instruction, and pedagogy,
specifically high school physical science, chemistry, and biology
· Familiarity with Ohio’s Learning Standards for Science and the Next
Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
· Skilled communicator and listener who demonstrates interest in building strong, supportive relationships with students and colleagues
· Motivated learner who continually seeks feedback and is excited to grow and learn professionally
· Natural collaborator who is eager to participate in re-envisioning curricula along with other members of the Science Department
· Flexible coaching style to adapt science learning strategies for a variety of learners
· Dynamic teacher motivated by a genuine care for the well-being and academic growth of high school students
· Willingness and eagerness to support the needs of the school's co- curricular programs
Qualifications:
· Undergraduate or graduate degree in science (integrated science)
· State-issued teaching licensure in secondary science education from the State of Ohio
· Prior teaching experience preferred
· Experience in partnering and collaborating with colleagues and parents
