Description
The Director of Spiritual Care is responsible for managing the Spiritual Care Department of assigned facility. S/he oversees and ensures the provision of pastoral/spiritual care to residents, their loved ones, and healthcare staff. S/he oversees and ensures provision of education and training, as appropriate, for the institution. S/he communicates and provides liaison with the religious community. S/he participates in the institution’s management structure.

Requirements
Master's degree in theology or related degree required. Two units in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) are required, certification with NACC or ACPE or its equivalent is preferred. Experience working with infirm elderly is needed as well as excellent communication and counseling skills, patience, tact, positive attitude, integrity, and cheerful enthusiasm. Bachelor’s degree with minimum 5-years experience working within a spiritual care leadership position may substitute Master’s degree. Experience in spiritual care, knowledge of specialized fields of theology, liturgy, psychology, sociology, ecumenical orientation and Catholic ethical guidelines. Bachelor's Degree is required with the specified knowledge and experience.
Must be an Extraordinary (Eucharistic) Minister.
Work Hours and Schedule Expectations:
1. Typical workday hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00PM.
2. Employee within this position may be expected to work paid holidays.
3. Position may require working weekends to ensure services provided.
Work schedule will require flexibility to be available to residents or families during the evenings, as needed.
