Notre Dame Health Care is currently looking to fill two positions in our Food Service Department.
Full Time (32 hours / week) - This position is split 16 hours Dietary Aide / 16 hours Cook
Full Time (40 hours / week) - Dietary Aide
The cook and diet aide positions are crucial in helping to ensure that our residents receive proper nutrition in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. They will work closely with the Food Services Department and the nursing staff to provide meal services to our residents while following dietary restrictions, food safety guidelines, and hygiene standards.
Responsibilities :
Assist with the preparation, portioning, and serving of meals to residents in accordance with their dietary needs.
Ensure that food is served in an attractive and timely manner.
Deliver meal trays to resident rooms, following all appropriate dietary guidelines and preferences.
Clean and sanitize dining areas, kitchen equipment, and utensils as required.
Maintain inventory of food and supplies, reporting any shortages to their director.
Follow food safety protocols, including proper storage and handling of food.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of meal services, including buffets and special events.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff regarding dietary needs or concerns.
Follow all regulations related to sanitation, infection control, and safety.
Inform Manager of any problems relating to missing or defective equipment.
COOK :
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food before use.
Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
Prepare and cook food according to recipes.
Serve food (for example, soup, desserts, sides, entrées) in proper portions onto dishes, plates, mugs, and bowls, ensuring proper plate appearance.
Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish to be served to waiters or patrons, according to standards.
Ensure food storage areas are clean.
Follow appropriate personal hygiene procedures to ensure food served to residents is safe for consumption.

Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in food service or dietary aide roles is preferred but not required.
Previous cooking experience required for cook position.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Strong communication skills and ability to interact with residents, families, and team members in a friendly and professional manner.
Basic knowledge of nutrition and special dietary needs is a plus.
Ability to push / pull a food cart and stand for long periods.
Willingness to undergo a background check and required health screenings.
