BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
This full-time, exempt position reports to the Math Department Chair and the administrative team of Principal and Vice Principals. The position requires teaching four to five math classes per semester, covering courses ranging from Algebra I to AP Calculus BC based on departmental needs. Faculty members are also expected to be available for school-wide tutoring periods 2-3 times per week and to engage in responsibilities beyond the school day, including grading, lesson planning, department meetings, and school-wide events.

Teachers are encouraged to attend events such as athletic games, theater productions, and other school activities to build community and support students.
Evening and weekend commitments may include Open House events, admissions activities, curriculum nights, and department-specific workshops. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with admissions interviews and fulfilling other departmental duties as needed.
The school calendar runs from approximately mid-August to mid-June each year. Contracted hours are 7:45 A.M. – 3:15 P.M. on Tuesday through Friday and 7:45 A.M. – 4:15 P.M. on Mondays.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Demonstrate passion and expertise in mathematics instruction.
- Teach a range of math courses, including Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP-level courses.
- Utilize technology and innovative teaching strategies to engage students in problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles.
- Participate in school-wide and departmental faculty meetings and professional development.
- Support students academically by being available for tutoring and additional help outside of class.
- Engage in the school community by attending Masses, assemblies, retreats, and extracurricular events.
- Take on chaperone and supervisory responsibilities, including some evening and weekend events.
- Meet with students and parents as needed during X period, before, or after school.

Write college letters of recommendation for students when appropriate.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Experience teaching high school math, including advanced courses.
- Ability to develop and implement an effective and engaging curriculum.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills.
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and engage in ongoing professional growth.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field and/or CA teaching credential.
- Experience teaching Advanced Placement (AP) math courses but not required.
- Familiarity with educational technology, project-based learning, and differentiated instruction.
- Prior experience teaching in a Catholic secondary school setting, but not required.
Salary : $63,090 - $84,788
