Notre Dame Preparatory School in Towson, Maryland is hiring a full-time (40 hours per week) Admissions Counselor for the Middle Level. This is a 10-month role with approximate assignment dates of 8/16 6/15 annually. The primary responsibilities of the Admissions Counselor are to report to the Middle Level Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management in all activities related to admissions and enrollment management at Notre Dame Preparatory School; be familiar with and support the mission of the Notre Dame Prep and the School Sisters of Notre Dame; help in enrollment efforts; oversee the Ambassadors as well as maintain a positive relationship with prospective students and their parents. This position requires an outgoing person that is very comfortable engaging guests, as well as working both collaboratively and independently on assigned projects and tasks. Start date will be August 16, 2025.

Admissions Counselor duties include:

  • Oversee the Ambassadors

Pair visitors with students who are active in the same areas of interest.

Check-in on ambassadors and guests throughout the day.

  • Conduct and write up synopsis of interviews with prospective applicants

Manage the follow-up with prospective student from ambassadors after the shadow day and interview.

  • Greet parents and prospective students on shadow visitation days.

On shadow days, this position must be in the foyer no later than 7:30 am

  • Attend and assist with admissions-related events including but not limited to: Open House, sports clinics, Thanksgiving Event, ISEE Testing & Cookie Decorating, Walk In Our Saddles, Blazer Bash, student/parent panels and information sessions, and other admission-related special events and activities as deemed necessary by the director of admissions or head of school.
  • Provide support to director of admissions and department administrative assistant, including clerical and administrative tasks as needed.

Make calls and reach out to feeder schools as needed for academic records and applicant file support of prospective students

Organize and coordinate acceptance packets

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Middle Level Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management.
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in primary or secondary education, preferably in admissions and recruitment events.
  • Candidates should have working knowledge of Blackbaud LMS or EMS or the ability to learn on the job.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize multiple tasks. Effective communication skills.
  • Strong people skills and the ability to build and cultivate relationships. The ability to engage with people and prospects on an individual level.
  • Confidentiality.
  • Possess strong computer and technology skills with experience in Blackbaud, Microsoft Office, specifically Excel. Continue professional development with admissions software.
  • Admissions experience a plus.

For this 10-month position, annual salary is $43,000 to $53,000 based upon degrees and experience.
