What are the responsibilities and job description for the Upper Level Social Studies Teacher (2025 - 2026 school year) position at Notre Dame Preparatory School?
Notre Dame Preparatory School (NDP), a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for girls in grades 6 - 12 located in Towson, Maryland, seeks a full-time teacher in our Social Studies Department for the 2025 - 2026 school year. This position will involve teaching sections of Upper Level Social Studies including Government and Economics.
Annual dates for the 10-month position are August 16th to June 15th (as well as attending new employee orientation in mid-August 2025).
Responsibilities:
- Teach 5 out of 8 class periods each day.
- Work collaboratively with members of the Social Studies department on developing/improving curriculum.
- Participate in ongoing professional development.
- Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned, such as advisory.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelors degree in History required.
- Masters degree in History/Social Studies preferred.
- Maryland State Teacher Certification and demonstrated expertise in the teaching of history/government/economics preferred.
- A passion for teaching history/government/economics to high school students.
- Ability to integrate technology effectively into instruction.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of the Social Studies department and the NDP community.

Annual salary is $45,000 to $70,000 based upon degrees and experience.
