Summary:
Notre Dame Retreat House is seeking an efficient, detailed, and self-motivated Facilities Manager who will be responsible for day-to-day facilities and grounds operations and maintenance. Notre Dame Retreat House is a non-profit organization that is comprised of an ~43,000 sqft., 85-bedroom retreat and conference center and a ~2,300 sqft. Residential building situated on 50 acres in Canandaigua, New York.
Status: Full Time 35-40 hours per week
Location: Notre Dame Retreat House, 5151 Foster Rd, Canandaigua, New York
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Some weekend and on-call support will be required.
Responsibilities:
· Manage guests needs by responding promptly to all guest issues, and address all work orders in an efficient and effective manner.
· Responsible for the proper operations and upkeep of all; electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, tile work, laundry, kitchen, refrigeration, lighting systems, and all specialized equipment. Ensure compliance with city, state and/or federal code ordinances and maintain all required permits and licenses for entire facility, including the annual fire inspection and on-site generator
· Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs for all equipment, guest rooms, public areas and all other facilities located on property
· Maintain and ensure the safe operation of all on-site equipment including but not limited to site plow truck ensuring truck, salter and snow plow are kept in working order
· Assist with the setup and tear down of conference rooms and event space furniture as requested
· Clean out and organize basement and detached garage
· Coordinate and supervise any external contractors and vendors while on site ensuring accurate delivery of product and/or service
· Leadership role in curb appeal, landscaping and grounds maintenance in all weather conditions, including but not limited to;
o Snow plowing prep (stakes and fence), driveway and parking lot plowing
o Snow blowing, shoveling and salting walkways and entrances as necessary
o Light landscaping such as trimming and yard clean-up
· Assist with special project as needed or requested
Physical Requirements:
· Medium – occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds with frequent walking, standing and/or squatting
Reporting Structure:
· Day-to-day operational oversight provided by on-site Program Director
· Special projects and budgetary expenditures, along with strategic direction provided by the Board of Director in charge of Buildings & Grounds
Requirements:
· 3 years previous maintenance experience
· Previous professional HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing or Construction experience a plus
· Proven communication skills with all levels of management
· Previous experience working with volunteers a plus
· Able to furnish a valid driver’s license
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively while maintaining calmness, composure, and hospitality
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Willing to participate in any required training programs
· Flexible availability including on-call and weekends
