The Nottoway County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office is seeking to fill a vacancy of a full-time Deputy Clerk.
The Deputy Clerk will be responsible in assisting with the overall operation and functions of the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office in a public setting. Duties will include processing criminal cases, civil cases, marriage licenses, deeds, estates, concealed handgun permits, judgments, and financing statements. The Deputy Clerk will be required to maintain court dockets, prepare court orders, administer oaths, prepare jury lists and review financial reports. The Deputy Clerk must be able to prioritize a heavy workload with a high level of accuracy, meet all required deadlines and always be mindful of crucial details.
Written and verbal communication skills are essential. After initial hands-on training, the Deputy Clerk will be expected to problem-solve independently using other resources available.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
