Responsibilities : PEOPLE :

Ensure each driver understands their individual responsibilities to maintain a safe work place.
Establish and sustain that we recruit, hire, train, develop and retain quality Drivers.
Onboard drivers with the necessary tools (Phone setup, Relay, ADP, SmartDrive) needed to start their 1st day with Amazon and Notus South.
Establish and sustain effective, two-way communication that informs our drivers.
Conduct any and all investigation(s) pertaining to driver performance, safety incidents or misconduct with owner.
Ensure Drivers are monitoring and taking ownership of their HoS. Assist where needed.
Coach through safety observations leveraging SmartDrive analysis and Driver performance.
No disciplinary actions needed to drivers. Owner will conduct those.

OPERATIONS

Make logistical coverage / staffing decisions and communicate them effectively to the rest of the team, when needed.

Track the progress of each route daily (with our dispatching team) to ensure there is a plan of action on problematic routes that may involve HOS violation.

SAFETY

Proactively identify and correct unsafe conditions, work processes, and behaviors.

Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies (DOT), company policies / procedures.

Conduct necessary investigation(s) to determine the cause of problems like accidents (if any arises) and to set up safety measures to avoid recurrence of such issues.

FLEET

Lead effort to improve fleet / equipment utilization, maintenance availability and fuel efficiency.

Ensure vehicles have supplies needed for prolonged efficiency.

Ensuring Drivers are conducting (thru Audits) Pre and Post trip inspections to reduce any issues.

Coordinate with Amazon Driver Support for any issues concerning any vehicles, get updates and close out these issues (as they arise).

Weekly / Monthly inspection of the fleet.

IMPORTANT FACT

This position is NOT a Monday to Friday position and will require flexible schedule where supervisor may have to work evenings and weekends to accommodate our driver's schedule and responsibilities. If you are a current driver, you may be asked to fill in as a driver as needed, but rarely as I will be backfilling your position. Salary will be discussed and negotiated based on your current pay rate and a percentage increase.
