Work Schedule

The hours of this position are between Tuesday -Sunday 6:45 am-3:30 pm (4- or 8-hr shifts). The nature of this position requires flexible work hours including some early mornings and weekends. Job Type: Part-time

Essential Job Functions

• Welcome and serve all customers in a friendly matter. Remain attentive and helpful during your interactions.
• Assist your team by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed. This includes assisting the barista back with tasks or covering the point of sale, if needed.
• Create drinks and prepare food with care and do your best to ensure customer satisfaction. Display your knowledge of the menu item, ingredients, and how items are prepared.
• Accurately input orders, collect payment, and provide change/receipts at POS while upselling.
• Ensure the success of yourself and your team by keeping all areas fully stocked and orderly.
• Keep all stations clean including your personal workstation, customer areas, and the bathrooms.
• Follow opening and closing guidelines to ensure smooth service for the day and the next day, regardless of how the previous shift completed their duties.
• Follow safe food service and hygiene practices.
• Report complaints, hazards, and accidents to the manager on duty.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Responsible for the care and maintenance of coffee and espresso machines while on duty.
• Work collaboratively with all other employees of all abilities.
• Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Prepare beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients.

• Willingness to learn new skills and remain attentive while on the job.
• Positive attitude, punctual, reliable, and ready to be a team member.
• Knowledge of preparation and ingredients of food items and various espresso drinks. Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for coffee.
• Customer service that is executed in a personal and professional manner.
• Understanding of coffee shops.
• Strong attention to detail and respect for cleanliness and sanitation.
• Excitement about the task of ensuring that each customer has a quality experience at Nour.
• Ability to multi-task.

Mental and Visual Demand

• Ability to read, write, and speak English, follows written and verbal instructions; and use basic mathematics.
• Be able to write and/or print legibly.
• Be able to operate point of sale system.
• Ability to be mentally and visually alert at all times.
• Ability to be attentive to details.
• Ability to coordinate simultaneous operations.
• Ability to exercise manual coordination.

Physical Demand

• Be able to ambulate throughout the café and parking area.
• Be able to carry hot beverage and food items short distances.
• Be able to exert light to moderate physical activity as it relates to walking and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to bend, twist, and lift repetitively.
