Senior Technical Planner

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of Hospitality Planning and Sales Administration.

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Senior Technical Planner to join our team.

The planner will be responsible for all aspects of planning custom hospitality carpet jobs, including estimating material needs, communicating with installers, providing 2D flooded renderings, seaming plans, detailed installation instructions, and various other daily planning requests.

A successful candidate should possess exceptional mathematical abilities, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of flooring materials and installation processes.

The ideal candidate for this role has a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties

• Project planning which includes budget take-offs, Flooded plans, seaming diagrams, templates, etc.
• Meet virtually with customers or sales to establish project needs or advise on planning layouts.
• Able to provide guidance with installation related questions
• Serve as a point of contact between the internal design team and other planning members to ensure the design is developed efficiently and aligns with the client's requirements based on CAD plans. Provide guidance to internal designers on any immediate questions regarding plan dimensions and layouts
• Be able to provide the most efficient solutions minimizing waste based on the design intent
• Actively monitor projects pending production. Check approvals and po to ensure final production matches the order. Prepare production layouts for the production designer to cut rolls. Check production rolls
• Work with clients and sales reps to ensure that the work being performed is accurate and delivered timely along with keeping proper records for future reference
• Monitor shipping dates of projects and ensure installation packages are completed prior to carpet shipping
• Assist management when needed by assigning projects to appropriate team members and ensuring work is completed on time and accurately when needed.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Intermediate to Expert AutoCAD experience
• Basic to advanced knowledge of carpet installation
• Knowledge of varying types of carpet - Axminster, hand tufted, tufted, and dye injection
• Understanding interior design, pattern repeats, and style trends within the hospitality industry
• Experience using Google Doc, Excel, PowerPoint and other general office programs
• Understanding of FF& E floor plans, specifications, and architectural drawings
• Have clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
