Automotive Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Technician (Chillicothe, OH):
This position is full-time, and applicants MUST HAVE a clean driving record and be insurable by our corporate insurance underwriter.
Nourse Automotive is currently seeking a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Technician. The PDI Technician is responsible for conducting thorough inspections and quality checks on new vehicles before they are delivered to customers. This role ensures that all vehicles meet the dealership's standards and manufacturer's specifications, guaranteeing that customers receive their vehicles in optimal condition.

Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct comprehensive inspections on new vehicles to verify that they are in proper working condition.
- Check for any defects or issues and ensure that all systems and components (engine, transmission, brakes, electronics, etc.) are functioning correctly.
- Verify that the vehicle meets the manufacturer's specifications and dealership standards.
- Complete all necessary preparations and adjustments to the vehicle, including installing accessories, setting up vehicle features, and performing any required software updates.
- Ensure that the vehicle is clean, polished, and ready for delivery.
- Accurately complete inspection checklists and document any issues found.
- Report any problems or discrepancies to the Service Manager or Shop Foreman for further action.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections and services performed.
- Ensure that all required paperwork and documentation are completed and filed correctly.
- Confirm that all customer-specific requests or modifications have been addressed.
- Conduct a final quality check to ensure the vehicle is delivered in pristine condition.
- Ensure compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards and regulations.
- Work closely with service advisors, sales staff, and other technicians to coordinate vehicle preparation and delivery.
Requirements:
- Must be insurable and possess a valid Driver’s License
- Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills in order to interact effectively with dealership personnel and follow directions precisely
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Operate all vehicles in a safe manner and in compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures, traffic laws and regulations
- Observe rules of the road and demonstrate courtesy and defensive driving techniques
- Work effectively in a team atmosphere
- Vision abilities required. Close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Constantly required to enter and exit vehicles
