In your future role as Global Demand Planner, you will
The demand planning function is a critical component of the supply chain team, focusing on our ability to predict and manage external demand. The capability includes both quantitative and qualitative analysis to gain a holistic understanding of the marketplace and its dynamics. The demand plan should be developed by the business planning teams in collaboration with commercial and marketing teams and supported by the expertise of the Demand Planning Process Owner.
Demand Planning and Forecasting:
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, customer behavior and other relevant factors to predict future demand.
- Develop and maintain a 24-month accurate demand forecast at the material/customer level, aggregated as necessary.
- Consider best-case, worst-case, and most likely scenarios for demand projections.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, operations, and finance teams.
- Work collaboratively with the Sales Managers and Marketing Team to ensure key assumptions on anticipated market movements and commercial strategy are reflected within the forecasts.
- Coordinate the execution of the demand plan with responsible sales teams and customer services teams, effectively managing any exceptions with supply capability.
- Collaborate with supply planning and commercial teams to constrain forecasts where necessary.
- Actively communicate situation on slow moving products / discontinued products to the Sales Managers
- Utilize statistical methods to create a baseline forecast and increase productivity.
- Prepare historical data for the usage of statistical forecasts (segment, review outliers, realign data)
- Maintain Arkieva and SAP master data relevant for the forecast process (preferred plants).
- Implement and regularly re-evaluate the review required policy based on statistical forecastability.
- Prepare and chair the Regional & Global Demand Reviews
- Provide input to the Supply Management Review (SMR) in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
- Co-leads the Integrated Tactical Plan review (ITP) to drive tactical implementation of the approved plans.
- Continuously improve Forecast Accuracy and BIAS.
- Monitor Statistical Forecast Accuracy and Forecast Value Add.
- Monitor Process Performance Indicators to ensure master data quality and adherence to the standard process.
- Propose tools and structures for the improvement of the planning function and, after consultation the IBP Manager, implements these structures.
- Manage specific Supply Chain projects to meet budget requirements, project timelines, goals, business objectives etc.
The position is based in Radnor, PA but requires occasional travel. Approximately 5-10% of your working time will be for regional travel. This role could potentially be offered in Houston, TX.
We believe you bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, Mathematics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis tools like Power BI.
- Very good English communication skills.
- Proven experience in demand planning and forecasting.
- Excellent analytical skills: demonstrable capability to analyze data (including mass cross-reference data validation, trending, and forecasting).
- Strong communication skills; able to communicate with all functional levels within the business.
- Experience with SAP (or equivalent ERP system), Business Warehouse (or equivalent data warehouse) or Arkieva (or equivalent advanced planning software) is preferred.
- Solid understanding of supply chain and business processes.
- Ability to prioritize and proactively complete projects with little direction.
- APICS CPIM or CSCP is preferred.
The job holder must follow their budget and delegation of authority. This covers external spending, hours and vacation planning, and decisions on inventory policies.
