What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at Nouveau Monde?
Nouveau Monde is a Connecticut Magazine and Wine Spectator award-winning restaurant serving new American cuisine with an extensive wine/beer/spirits list. We are looking to expand our team.
We are hiring a bartender for both weekday and weekend evening shifts, as well as special event shifts for private events.
Responsibilities and Duties
Qualified bartender is hospitality-focused with a guest-first attitude, while demonstrate the ability to work as a team with fellow team members. Ability to memorize menu details and drink recipes is a must. Strong wine/beer/spirits knowledge is essential, or at least be willing to learn, as we have over 1000 wines by the bottle, along with bottled beers and a curated spirits list. Bartender maintains and stock bar items and inventory. Prior POS knowledge to place and course orders is a plus. You will be serving as bartender or server based on shift needs.
Qualifications and Skills
- 3 years bartending experience at a full-service restaurant required (not counter service)
- Ability to memorize menu items, as well as drink recipes
- Positive and engaging attitude with customers is a must, and own the customer's experience - we are not looking for an order taker
- Ability to multi-task and follow established procedures and requirements are required.
- TIPS certification desired

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
