What are the responsibilities and job description for the Consumables Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op position at Nova Biomedical Corporation?
Nova Biomedical is hiring an Engineering Intern (Consumables Manufacturing) for the July 2025 Co-Op Cycle (July 2025 - Dec 2025/ Jan 2026) in our Waltham, MA facility. The Consumable Engineering Co-op will assist the engineering staff in providing technical floor support to the reagent, sensor, and tubing manufacturing operations to ensure on-time shipments of high quality products at an acceptable cost. Other responsibilities include:
- Assist engineers in creation and revision of all forms of manufacturing documentation (AP, TP, OI, OP, Drawings and Artwork) which conform to Quality System Regulations (QSRs) and ISO standards.
- Assist in measurement of components for form, fit, and function of nonconforming product.
- Assist in execution of Installation Qualifications (IQ), Operational Qualifications (OQ), Performance Qualifications (PQ), Validations, Design of Experiment (DOE), Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Process Validation Master Plans and Continuous Improvement Studies/Evaluations.
- Assist in setup of new equipment for existing or new processes/assemblies.
- Design tooling/fixtures for processes or modify existing production equipment as needed.
- Assist with process improvement efforts
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Time management skills
- Experience with SOLIDWORKS 3D Modeling and Drafting
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Education/Experience:
- Enrolled in a BS, Mechanical Engineering Program
