What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plastics Engineering Co-Op position at Nova Biomedical Corporation?
Nova Biomedical is looking for a Plastics Engineering Intern (Temporary) for the July 2025 cycle in our Lexington Rd, Billerica, MA facility. Ideally, we are looking for a Co-Op student who is able to make a 6-month commitment to the role. This is an excellent position for a Plastics Engineering undergraduate student to earn income while receiving hands-on experience learning injection molding scientific molding and troubleshooting techniques. This position will report to the Nova Biomedicals Mold Shop and with assist the lead Plastics Processing Engineer with related processing, design, research, and metrology. Other responsibilities include:
- Assist with injection mold process development, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
- Assist with injection mold validations (IQ, OQ, PQ)
- Generate Engineering documentation including procedures, Engineering Change Orders (ECO), CAD drawings, metrology reports and more.
- Assist with molding cell equipment installations.
- Any other responsibilities assigned by the departments Plastics Process Engineer.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
- Plastics Engineering undergraduate student (UMass Lowell)
- Competent with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of SolidWorks is a plus
- Knowledge of plastics injection molding is a plus
- Mechanically inclined and capable with small hand tools
