We are seeking a skilled Engineering Services Professional - Materials Expert to join our team at NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC. As a key member of our engineering services department, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of construction materials and processes on our projects.
About the Job:
- Conduct field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Review blueprints and perform field observations to verify accuracy and conformance to project plans.
- Document field activities, observations, and testing results to maintain accurate records and facilitate communication with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Construction Services and Geotechnical Project Management staff to communicate testing results and coordinate inspections.
- Maintain equipment calibration and adhere to industry codes and standards.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials.
- American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Testing - Level I certification is required.
- One or more International Code Council (ICC) Special Inspector certifications are preferred (Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry).
- Ability to lift 40 to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel out-of-town for short duration assignments.
