We're looking for an experienced Quantitative Researcher or Data Scientist to join our team and play a crucial role in developing and implementing sophisticated quantitative models and strategies. This position offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to work on complex, impactful projects at the intersection of finance, mathematics, and technology alongside our team in Durham, NC.
- Develop and implement innovative quantitative models and trading strategies.
- Conduct in-depth statistical analysis on large-scale financial datasets.
- Create and refine machine learning models for predictive analytics in financial markets.
- Collaborate with software engineers to implement and optimize quantitative strategies.
- Perform rigorous backtesting and out-of-sample testing of trading strategies.
- Contribute to the development of the firm's research infrastructure and tools.
- Stay abreast of latest developments in quantitative finance, machine learning, and related fields.
- 2-6 years of relevant experience in statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling techniques.
- Eagerness to work in a startup, with dynamic, fast-paced projects that immediately impact the business.
- Proficiency in working with large datasets and distributed computing environments.
- Basic familiarity programming in Rust, Scala, C, C , or Java.
- Experience building predictive models for systematic decision making.
- Experience building and applying models for Bayesian inference.
- Understanding of software development practices and version control systems.
- Experience with the full life-cycle of a data science project, from data engineering to data exploration to model building, deployment, and monitoring.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., GCP, Kubernetes, etc.) for large-scale data analysis.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related disciplines).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
