Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive environment.
- Monitor and document residents' health status and report any changes to the nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain resident confidentiality at all times.
- Support residents with mobility and physical activities while ensuring their safety.
- Engage residents in social and recreational activities to promote mental stimulation.
- Assist with medication reminders as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Uphold resident rights by treating each individual with dignity and respect.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with conditions such as dementia or autism as needed.
Skills
- Experience in dementia care, hospice care, or memory care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of resident rights and the importance of maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Patience and empathy when working with individuals facing physical or cognitive challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Familiarity with caregiving practices in group home settings is a plus.
