Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation, cooking, and laundry.
- Provide personal care services such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support clients with mobility and physical tasks, including lifting when necessary.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and document clients' health status and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with memory care strategies for clients experiencing cognitive challenges.
- Ensure a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial for effective communication with healthcare providers.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices and long-term care principles is a plus.
- Ability to lift and assist clients as needed while maintaining safety protocols.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Valid certification or training in home care practices is advantageous but not required.
